Our metal quailty
At J-Line Designs, we prioritise quality and craftsmanship, which is why our jewellery is made using only premium materials to ensure timeless beauty and durability. Here's what you can expect:
Solid 925 Sterling Silver
Our sterling silver pieces are crafted for strength and brilliance, providing a timeless foundation for everyday wear.
14ct Gold-Filled Chains
Gold-filled jewellery features a solid layer of 14ct gold, mechanically bonded to a core of brass. It’s more durable and tarnish-resistant than standard plating, making it perfect for daily wear, with the potential to last years & years with care.
18ct Yellow Gold Vermeil/ electroplating
For earrings, we use 2-micron thick vermeil electroplating, while our rings, necklaces, and bracelets feature a luxurious 4-micron layer of 18ct gold over sterling silver. This offers a high-quality, radiant finish that lasts longer than traditional plating.
Here’s how our materials differ from standard options:
- Gold Plated: Often made with a thin layer of gold over brass, gold-plated jewellery is less durable and more prone to wear from water, perfume, and heat.
- Vermeil/electroplating: A step up, vermeil/electroplating features a heavy thick gold layer over solid sterling silver, making it more durable than standard gold plating. However, it requires care.
- Gold-Filled: Legally required to contain at least 5% gold by weight, gold-filled pieces are a long-lasting, affordable alternative to solid gold, ideal for everyday elegance.
- Solid Gold: The pinnacle of luxury, solid gold offers unmatched shine, strength, and longevity, with purity that justifies its value.
By choosing J-Line, you’re investing in materials designed to stand the test of time—perfect for expressing your unique style, every day. 💎
